The Kasco Surface Aerator is a working aeration unit first, decorative fountain second. The propeller draws water from below and throws it into the air as a churning umbrella, which adds up to 3.0 lbs of dissolved oxygen per horsepower every hour. That oxygen transfer rate is what makes the Surface Aerator a fit for wastewater lagoons, retention basins, and any pond that's gone murky, smelly, or algae-heavy.

Every Surface Aerator runs on a sealed stainless steel submersible motor and is fully saltwater compatible. The complete package is ETL listed to UL and CSA standards. The cord is rated for direct underwater use, and the float and mounting hardware ship with every unit along with three 50 ft braided nylon mooring ropes. Available from 1/2 HP up through 5 HP - that covers ponds from 1/2 acre through 5 acres of surface area.

Pick your unit from 1/2 HP (2400AF) up through the 5 HP 5.1AF, choose 120V or 240V where both are available, and pair it with a 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, or 400 ft submersible power cord. The included cord is rated for direct submersion. If you need extra protection in harsh environments or rocky bottoms, the Stainless Steel Protected Cord upgrade is available as an add-on at order time.   • Dedicated Circuit: the Surface Aerator does not include a control panel by default. Wire it into a properly sized dedicated circuit with appropriate GFCI protection. Have a licensed electrician verify your existing wiring or add an optional Kasco control panel.
  • Power Off Around Swimmers: disconnect power any time someone enters the water.
  • Minimum Pond Depth: 15 inches for the 1/2 HP, up to 26 inches for the 5 HP. Measure where the unit will sit, not at the shoreline.
  • Mooring: three 50 ft braided nylon mooring ropes are included. You supply anchors or weights to hold the float in position.
  • Cord Routing: the included submersible cord runs from the unit to your breaker. Choose a length that reaches comfortably without strain. The Stainless Steel Protected Cord upgrade is a separate add-on; SS lengths over 200 ft are special-order and ship in roughly 4 weeks.
  • Voltage Selection: 1/2 HP is 120V only. 3/4 HP and 1 HP are available in both 120V and 240V (240V recommended for longer cord runs to avoid voltage drop). 2 HP, 3 HP, and 5 HP are 240V only.

The Kasco Surface Aerator is a working aeration unit first, decorative fountain second. The propeller draws water from below and throws it into the air as a churning umbrella, which adds up to 3.0 lbs of dissolved oxygen per horsepower every hour. That oxygen transfer rate is what makes the Surface Aerator a fit for wastewater lagoons, retention basins, and any pond that's gone murky, smelly, or algae-heavy.

Every Surface Aerator runs on a sealed stainless steel submersible motor and is fully saltwater compatible. The complete package is ETL listed to UL and CSA standards. The cord is rated for direct underwater use, and the float and mounting hardware ship with every unit along with three 50 ft braided nylon mooring ropes. Available from 1/2 HP up through 5 HP - that covers ponds from 1/2 acre through 5 acres of surface area.

Pick your unit from 1/2 HP (2400AF) up through the 5 HP 5.1AF, choose 120V or 240V where both are available, and pair it with a 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, or 400 ft submersible power cord. The included cord is rated for direct submersion. If you need extra protection in harsh environments or rocky bottoms, the Stainless Steel Protected Cord upgrade is available as an add-on at order time. Optional bottom screen, control panel, and WaterGlow lighting kits sold separately.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy

  • Dedicated Circuit: the Surface Aerator does not include a control panel by default. Wire it into a properly sized dedicated circuit with appropriate GFCI protection. Have a licensed electrician verify your existing wiring or add an optional Kasco control panel.
  • Power Off Around Swimmers: disconnect power any time someone enters the water.
  • Minimum Pond Depth: 15 inches for the 1/2 HP, up to 26 inches for the 5 HP. Measure where the unit will sit, not at the shoreline.
  • Mooring: three 50 ft braided nylon mooring ropes are included. You supply anchors or weights to hold the float in position.
  • Cord Routing: the included submersible cord runs from the unit to your breaker. Choose a length that reaches comfortably without strain. The Stainless Steel Protected Cord upgrade is a separate add-on; SS lengths over 200 ft are special-order and ship in roughly 4 weeks.
  • Voltage Selection: 1/2 HP is 120V only. 3/4 HP and 1 HP are available in both 120V and 240V (240V recommended for longer cord runs to avoid voltage drop). 2 HP, 3 HP, and 5 HP are 240V only.
  • Industrial Use: for wastewater and aggressive industrial applications, ask about the stainless steel domed-top modification.
