About Scott Aerator · Authorized Dealer

American-made pond aeration, built in Holland, Michigan since 1996

Scott Aerator Co. has been engineering and manufacturing pond fountains, aerators, muck blasters, and de-icers in Holland, Michigan for nearly 30 years. Real American manufacturing. Real American jobs. Stainless steel hardware, sealed bronze bearings, oil-filled motors built to industrial spec, all built to outlast cheaper imports that look similar on a spec sheet but fall apart after a season or two.

The Scott Aerator product family covers the full pond water-quality lifecycle. The DA-20, Boilermaker, and North Star aerators move serious dissolved oxygen for water-quality fixes (algae, fish health, water clarity). The Clover, Skyward, Atriarch, Gusher, Amherst, Cambridge, Great Lakes, and Jet Stream decorative fountains deliver the visual appeal of a water feature with aerating side benefits built in. The AquaSweep and AquaSweep Max muck blasters target the bottom-sludge buildup that other equipment can't reach. The Pond De-Icer keeps a hole open in winter so fish survive the freeze. LED light kits (White and Color-Changing) turn any Scott fountain into a nighttime focal point.

Every Scott Aerator unit ships free in the lower 48, comes with the full factory warranty (5 years on motor against failure, 1 year on all other components against factory defects), and is supported by Pro Pond Supply's lifetime phone help at (470) 354-1969 for sizing, troubleshooting, or parts questions.

Scott Aerator FAQs

The most common questions our pond specialists get about Scott Aerator products.

Are Scott Aerators any good?

Yes — Scott Aerator is one of the most-recommended brands in the U.S. pond aeration market and our top brand by revenue. Build quality includes stainless steel hardware, sealed bronze bearings, oil-filled motors built to industrial spec, and powder-coated marine-grade aluminum housings. Every unit is engineered and manufactured in Holland, Michigan since 1996.

The biggest reason we recommend Scott: the 5-year motor warranty (vs. 1-3 years on most competitors), combined with the actual U.S. manufacturing means parts ship from a real Michigan factory rather than waiting on a container from overseas. Use our finder to match the right Scott unit to your pond.

Where are Scott Aerator products made?

Scott Aerator Co. designs, engineers, and manufactures every product in Holland, Michigan. They've been operating from the same Michigan facility since 1996. This is real American manufacturing — the motors, hydraulics, housings, and complete assembly all happen at the U.S. factory, not just a U.S. branding office for imported equipment.

The Holland, MI manufacturing also means replacement parts ship from a domestic warehouse rather than overseas. When something needs replacing, you usually get it within a week, not a month.

What's the warranty on a Scott Aerator?

Scott Aerator's standard manufacturer warranty: 5 years on the motor against failure (no questions asked) and 1 year on all other components against factory defects. The 5-year motor coverage is among the strongest in the industry — most competing brands offer 1-3 years on the motor.

Pro Pond Supply is an authorized Scott Aerator dealer, so every unit you buy from us comes with the full factory warranty plus our lifetime phone support at (470) 354-1969 for install help, troubleshooting, or parts orders.

Which Scott fountain is the most popular?

The Great Lakes Fountain is our top-selling Scott fountain by revenue. High center plume, available in 3/4 HP up to 3 HP, sized for ponds 3/4 acre and up. The big plume reads from a long distance which makes it the right pick for ponds visible from the road or driveway.

For smaller ponds or quieter aesthetics, the Skyward (single vertical jet) and Atriarch (multi-tier spray) are the next-most-popular picks. All three pair with Scott's White or Color-Changing LED light kits for nighttime appeal.

What's the difference between a Scott fountain and a Scott aerator?

Two different goals, two different product families. Decorative fountains (Clover, Skyward, Atriarch, Gusher, Amherst, Cambridge, Great Lakes, Jet Stream) prioritize the visible spray pattern. They aerate as a side benefit but the engineering is tuned for spray shape and height.

Pure aerators (Boilermaker, North Star) prioritize dissolved-oxygen transfer per horsepower. Spray pattern is minimal or invisible from a distance. The pick when water quality is the goal — algae control, fish health, water clarity — and you don't need a visual focal point.

The DA-20 sits in the middle as an "aerating fountain" — a fountain that's designed to transfer real oxygen while still showing a visible spray. Best of both worlds for most mid-sized residential ponds.

What is the AquaSweep muck blaster and how does it work?

The Scott AquaSweep is a dock-mounted (or floating, with the Floating AquaSweep) circulator that targets the sludge buildup at the bottom of your pond without requiring you to drain or dredge. It directs a strong horizontal water current along the bottom which breaks up organic muck and pushes it toward the deeper part of the pond where natural bacterial decomposition does the rest of the work.

The AquaSweep Muck Blaster (1/3 HP, dock-mountable in 4 different ways) is the entry option. The AquaSweep Max (heavier-duty motor, longer cord up to 350 ft) handles larger ponds or longer cord runs. Add the Scott Aerator Oscillator attachment to either for a programmable sweep pattern that covers a wider area.

What size Scott aerator or fountain do I need for my pond?

Scott Aerator's rule of thumb is 1 HP per surface acre, adjusted for depth. Shallow ponds under 6 ft can use the base 1 HP/acre; ponds 6-10 ft add 25%; ponds 10-15 ft add 50%; deeper ponds need bigger HP or multi-unit setups.

Our aerator finder calculates the exact HP for your pond based on surface area, depth, voltage available, and cord-distance to the nearest outlet. The finder then deep-links you to the right product with the matching variant pre-selected. Or call (470) 354-1969 for a human spec.

How do I add lighting to my Scott Aerator fountain?

Scott Aerator makes two LED light kits that retrofit onto any Scott fountain (and most pre-existing Scott installs from the past 10+ years). The White LED Light Kit uses warm-white LEDs and is the budget pick at $1,059. The Color-Changing LED Lights kit uses RGB programmable LEDs that cycle through colors for dramatic nighttime appeal, starting at $1,399.

Both kits include the light assemblies, mounting hardware, and a long-run cable that ties into the same outlet as your fountain. Installation is a 30-minute job and we walk you through it on the phone if you need help.

Do I need a 115V or 230V outlet for a Scott Aerator?

Scott Aerator units 1/3 HP through 1 HP are available in both 115V (standard household) and 230V (heavier-duty circuit). Units 1.5 HP and above are 230V-only — the motors draw too much amperage for a standard 115V circuit.

If you're picking a 1.5+ HP fountain or aerator, you'll need a dedicated 230V outlet at the pond edge. Most electricians can run a 230V line as a half-day install. If 230V isn't feasible, call (470) 354-1969 — we'll spec a 1 HP or smaller unit that works on your existing 115V outlet.

What cord length do I need from the pond to the outlet?

Measure the actual distance from your pond's edge (where the fountain will float) to your nearest outdoor outlet, then add 10-20 ft of slack so the cord isn't pulled tight. Scott Aerator cords come in standard lengths: 35, 50, 70, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, and 400 ft.

If your run is over 200 ft, talk to us first at (470) 354-1969. Very long cord runs can experience voltage drop, which affects motor performance over time. The fix is usually a heavier-gauge cord rated for the longer distance.

Do you stock Scott Aerator replacement parts?

Yes — we keep common Scott replacement parts (motor seal kits, propellers, mounting hardware, electrical components) and the Scott factory in Michigan stocks the deeper parts catalog. When something needs replacing, call (470) 354-1969 and we'll either ship from our domestic inventory or coordinate directly with the Holland, MI factory. Domestic-only shipping means you typically get parts within a week.
