  • Dedicated Circuit: the De-Icer does not include a thermostat or control panel by default. Wire it into a properly sized dedicated circuit with appropriate GFCI protection, or add an optional Kasco C-10 or C-20 controller.
  • Power Off When Servicing: disconnect power before pulling the unit out of the water or working on the cord.
  • Minimum Water Depth: 4 ft of water below the unit. Suspend it so the propeller has clearance below and the motor has clearance above.

  • Units under warranty may be sent to a Kasco authorized repair center for evaluation and repair, and all units must include the required Repair Contact Form.
  • Only complete motor assemblies will be accepted for warranty repair, and the power cord and all other original components must be returned with the motor as originally assembled.
  • Kasco Marine will return units repaired under warranty at their expense by ground freight within the continental United States, while expedited return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

The Kasco De-Icer keeps a clear ice-free zone up to 50 ft in diameter around your dock, boat, or pond. 1/2 HP through 1 HP. Built for winter use. Pulls warmer water up from below to disrupt the freezing cycle. Also circulates oxygen-rich water that helps fish survive the deepest winter freezes.

Sealed submersible motor. UL, CSA, NEC approved underwater-rated cable. Two 20 ft mooring ropes included. 3-year warranty. Drop it in once in the fall and let it run unattended until spring thaw. Minimum water depth: 4 ft below the unit.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy

  • Dedicated Circuit: the De-Icer does not include a thermostat or control panel by default. Wire it into a properly sized dedicated circuit with appropriate GFCI protection, or add an optional Kasco C-10 or C-20 controller.
  • Power Off When Servicing: disconnect power before pulling the unit out of the water or working on the cord.
  • Minimum Water Depth: 4 ft of water below the unit. Suspend it so the propeller has clearance below and the motor has clearance above.
  • Mooring: two 20 ft mooring ropes are included for suspended operation. If you want to mount instead, add the Universal Mount Kit (1" pipe, customer-supplied) or Industrial Mount Kit (1.5" pipe, customer-supplied).
  • Cord Routing: the included submersible cord runs from the unit to your breaker. Pick a length that reaches comfortably. UL, CSA, and NEC approved for direct underwater use.
  • Voltage Selection: 1/2 HP is 115V only. 3/4 HP and 1 HP are available in both 115V and 230V (230V recommended for longer cord runs to avoid voltage drop).
  • Safety Around Open Water: the open water created by the De-Icer is not safe for foot traffic. Post visible warning signs around the area, especially near docks and walkways.

  • Units under warranty may be sent to a Kasco authorized repair center for evaluation and repair, and all units must include the required Repair Contact Form.
  • Only complete motor assemblies will be accepted for warranty repair, and the power cord and all other original components must be returned with the motor as originally assembled.
  • Kasco Marine will return units repaired under warranty at their expense by ground freight within the continental United States, while expedited return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.
