Full-Depth Diffused Aeration for Ponds Up to 4 Acres
The Airmax PondSeries aeration platform is Airmax's flagship deep-pond diffused aeration line - four horsepower classes (PS10, PS20, PS40, PS60) covering ponds from about half an acre up to four acres and depths that shallow-water systems can't touch. Every kit ships with an Airmax rocking-piston compressor, a matched port count of ProAir 2 or ProAir 4 weighted diffusers, and the same faux-rock composite cabinet used across the SW Series. The result is bottom-up circulation on ponds that need serious CFM and enough back-pressure headroom to keep the diffusers running at 15+ ft of depth.
Pick the PS10 (1/4 HP, 1 diffuser) for ponds up to about 1 acre and 15 ft deep. Step up to the PS20 (1/2 HP, 2 diffusers) for 1 to 2 acre ponds. The PS40 (3/4 HP) ships with 3 or 4 diffusers for 2 to 3 acre water bodies and heavier CFM demand. The PS60 (1 HP) is the top of the residential line with 5 or 6 diffusers for HOA lakes and commercial ponds up to about 4 acres.
Pick your airline package based on how far the diffuser drop points sit from the shore cabinet. The PS10 ships with 0 or 100 ft of 3/8-inch EasySet weighted airline; the PS20 with 0 or 200 ft; the PS40 with 0, 300, or 400 ft; and the PS60 ships without airline (the shorter Airmax rolls are typically sized to specific PS60 install layouts). All rolls are self-weighted, kink-free, and fish-hook resistant, backed by a 5-year airline warranty. Made in Armada, Michigan.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy
- Pond Depth: PondSeries compressors are sized for 6 to 15+ ft of back pressure. If your pond is 6 ft or shallower, the Airmax Shallow Water Series (SW20 / SW40) is a better fit - the SW compressors are matched to shallow-pond hydraulics.
- Pond Size: PS10 up to 1 acre, PS20 up to 2 acres, PS40 up to 3 acres, PS60 up to 4 acres. Larger water bodies need multiple systems or step up to Airmax LakeSeries.
- Cabinet Location: the ETL-certified composite cabinet sits on the shore within reach of a 115V (or 230V on select builds) GFCI circuit. Level ground; above the normal high-water mark. Elevated base protects against occasional standing water.
- Diffuser Layout: place ProAir diffusers at the deepest points of the pond. Space them for even coverage - one diffuser per zone. Airmax's free pond profile service can map optimal placement for your specific pond shape.
- Airline Sizing: measure from the cabinet's intended location to each diffuser drop point through any conduit runs. Add 5-10 ft of slack per run. Pick the airline package that covers the total measured length. PS60 ships without airline because installs vary widely - buy the rolls separately.
- Electrical - 115V builds: standard GFCI-protected household circuit. PS10: 4.4 A. PS20: 6 A. PS40: 8 A. PS60: 10 A. All under 15A / 20A residential.
- Electrical - 230V builds: dedicated 230V circuit with GFCI. Available on PS10, PS20, PS40. Lower amp draw at 230V and better for long shore-run conduit distances.
- Airline Type: 3/8-inch EasySet self-weighted airline. Kink-free, fish-hook resistant, sinks on its own without adding weights.
- Winter Operation: continuous run keeps a hole open in the ice for gas exchange - prevents fish winterkill on freezing ponds. Most owners run 24/7 year-round.
- Cabinet Access: the top and side of the cabinet lift off for compressor maintenance, filter changes, and manifold access. Plan for 3 ft of clearance around the cabinet on install.
