Scott Aerator Skyward Pond Fountain
The Scott Aerator Skyward Turns Any Pond Into a Showpiece
There is nothing quite like the sight and sound of water climbing skyward and fanning out into a wide, cone-shaped cascade on its way back down. The Scott Aerator Skyward does exactly that -- an all-brass, precision-machined center nozzle launches a powerful column of water that can be adjusted for height, while the surrounding spray fans outward in a broad mushroom-shaped pattern that sounds as beautiful as it looks. On the 1/2 HP, the center stream reaches 20 feet with the mushroom spray extending 35 feet in diameter. Scale up to the 3 HP and you are looking at a 50-foot center column surrounded by a 70-foot spray -- a display large enough to anchor any commercial property, HOA pond, or golf course water feature.
Beyond the visual impact, the Skyward moves serious water volume. Flow rates range from 3,000 GPH on the 1/2 HP to 10,500 GPH on the 3 HP, providing real aeration that boosts dissolved oxygen, discourages algae, and keeps your pond from going stagnant. Every Skyward runs on an oil-free stainless steel submersible motor built in Holland, Michigan. There is no oil to monitor, no control box to wire on the smaller units, and no routine service to schedule. It handles fresh water and salt water equally well, and when winter arrives there is nothing to drain, remove, or winterize. Turn the power off, let the pond freeze around the unit, and flip it back on after the spring thaw.
Six motor sizes across nine total configurations give you room to match the Skyward to anything from a compact backyard pond to a multi-acre lake. The 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, and 1 HP ship in both 115V and 230V, while the 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only. Add optional LED light kits -- warm white or color-changing with a wireless remote -- to keep the display running after dark. Plug in an optional timer to control when the motor runs. Use the motor comparison and cable length charts below to find the right configuration for your site.

The oil-free stainless steel motor runs 24/7 with zero maintenance, handles salt water, and survives winter without removal or winterizing. The three smallest motors come in 115V and 230V, while larger motors are 230V only.
Six HP ratings from 1/2 HP to 3 HP cover ponds from a compact backyard to multi-acre lakes. Add optional LED lights or a timer to customize. Use the charts below to compare motors and confirm cable length.

Key Features of the Skyward by Scott Aerator
- Adjustable All-Brass Center Nozzle: The Skyward's center stream comes from a precision-machined brass nozzle that can be adjusted for height, making it easy to customize the display for different settings and occasions. On the 1/2 HP, the column reaches 20 feet. On the 3 HP, it climbs to 50 feet -- visible from hundreds of feet away on larger properties.
- Wide Mushroom Spray Pattern: The surrounding cone-shaped spray fans outward in a broad, cascading pattern that ranges from 35 feet in diameter on the smaller motors to 70 feet on the 3 HP. The combination of the tall center column and the wide mushroom spray creates a layered display that looks dramatic from every angle and sounds as beautiful as it looks.
- Oil-Free Stainless Steel Motor: Every Skyward runs on an environmentally friendly submersible motor sealed in marine-grade stainless steel. There is no oil to monitor, no filter to replace, and no routine service to schedule. All motors are manufactured in Holland, Michigan and rated for continuous 24-hour operation.
- Six HP Options, Nine Configurations: The 1/2, 3/4, and 1 HP ship in both 115V and 230V. The 1.5, 2, and 3 HP are 230V only. Each step up adds spray height, width, and flow rate so you can size the display to your property.
- Factory-Attached Power Cord: Each unit ships ready to connect with a submersible cord (70 feet of 12-gauge on the 1/2 and 3/4 HP, 100 feet of 12-gauge on the 1 and 1.5 HP, 100 feet of 10-gauge on the 2 and 3 HP). The 115V models include a standard plug. Longer replacement cords can be ordered separately.
- No Winterizing, No Removal: All Scott Aerator products are engineered to handle subzero temperatures without any damage to the motor, housing, or float. When the season ends, cut the power and walk away. There is no draining, no storage, and no reinstallation in the spring.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy
- Dedicated GFCI Circuit: A GFCI-protected circuit is mandatory for all Skyward installations. Have a licensed electrician handle the wiring if you are not sure your current setup meets this requirement.
- Swimmer Safety: Power must be disconnected any time someone enters the water. This applies to all electric pond equipment, not just the Skyward.
- Depth Requirements by Motor: The pond must be at least 36" deep for the 1/2 HP, 44" for the 3/4 HP and 1 HP, 50" for the 1.5 HP, 56" for the 2 HP, and 64" for the 3 HP. Measure at the planned placement point, not at the shoreline.
- Two-Point Anchoring: The Skyward requires two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon mooring ropes to hold position. Minimum weight per anchor ranges from 25 lbs on the 1/2 and 3/4 HP to 55 lbs on the 3 HP. Anchors and rope are sold separately.
- No Extension Cords Allowed: Running the motor through an extension cord is not permitted. If the included power cord does not reach your breaker panel, use the cable length chart above to select the correct wire gauge for the total run distance, and order a longer cord or have a qualified electrician install a dedicated line.
- Choosing 115V or 230V: The 1/2, 3/4, and 1 HP motors come in both voltages. A 115V unit plugs into any standard outlet. A 230V unit needs to be hardwired into a panel. Scott Aerator strongly recommends the 230V version for the 1 HP to avoid voltage drop over longer cord runs. The 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only.
- ARL Compliance: Every Skyward configuration is ARL tested and approved to meet the applicable requirements of UL and the National Electric Code as a complete package.
What's Included & Optional Add-Ons
- In the Box: Fountain pump with precision brass nozzle, float platform, stainless steel filter basket, self-tapping assembly screws, submersible power cord (length and gauge depend on motor selection), and owner's manual. Everything needed to get the Skyward in the water ships together.
- Available Separately - LED Lights: Choose from Night Glo warm white or color-changing LED sets. Both screw directly onto the float and run off 115V household power. Go with a 2-light set for motors up to 1 HP, or a 4-light set for 1.5 HP and above. Every light set includes a built-in timer. The color-changing version also ships with a wireless remote rated for up to 300 feet.
- Available Separately - Motor Timers: Set the fountain to run on a custom schedule using a mechanical-dial timer with multiple on/off positions. Pick 115V (plug-in) or 230V (hardwired), both in a weather-resistant housing. Timers control the motor only; the light kits handle their own scheduling independently.
- Available Separately - Anchors & Mooring Line: Two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon ropes are required to hold the Skyward in position. These are not included in the package and must be sourced before installation.
- Available Separately - Extended Power Cords: If your breaker panel sits farther from the pond than the factory cord can reach, longer submersible replacement cords are available in the same gauge as the original.
