The Scott Aerator Clover Delivers a Bigger, Bolder Pond Display

Most pond fountains give you a single spray pattern and call it a day. The Scott Aerator Clover does something different -- its central brass nozzle launches water skyward while four angled side nozzles fan outward at 45 degrees, creating a distinctive clover-shaped spray that looks striking from every angle. On the 1/2 HP, the center stream reaches 20 feet with side jets extending 15 feet. Scale up to the 3 HP and you are looking at a 70-foot center column surrounded by 80-foot angled jets -- a display large enough to anchor a commercial property, HOA pond, or golf course water feature from hundreds of feet away. Flow rates range from 3,600 GPH on the 1/2 HP to 10,200 GPH on the 3 HP, so the Clover isn't just decorative -- it circulates serious water volume, boosts dissolved oxygen, and helps keep algae in check.

Every Clover runs on an oil-free stainless steel submersible motor built in Holland, Michigan. There is no oil to monitor, no control box to wire on the smaller units, and no routine service to schedule. It handles fresh water and salt water equally well, and when winter arrives there is nothing to drain, remove, or winterize. Turn the power off, let the pond freeze around the unit, and flip it back on after the spring thaw with no risk of damage. The 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, and 1 HP ship in both 115V and 230V, while the 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only. Every unit includes a submersible 12-gauge power cord, and 115V models come with a standard plug.

Six motor sizes across nine total configurations give you room to match the Clover to anything from a compact backyard pond to a multi-acre lake. Add optional LED light kits -- warm white or color-changing with a wireless remote -- to keep the display running after dark. Plug in an optional timer to control when the motor runs. Use the motor comparison and cable length charts below to zero in on the right configuration for your site.

Benefits of the Scott Aerator Clover Fountain

Signature Clover Spray Pattern
A tall center stream surrounded by four angled side jets at 45 degrees creates the distinctive clover-shaped display. On smaller motors the pattern is graceful and intimate. On the 2 HP and 3 HP it becomes a large-scale spectacle visible from a distance.
Six Motor Sizes
Choose from 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, 1 HP, 1.5 HP, 2 HP, or 3 HP. The three smallest ship in both 115V and 230V. The three largest are 230V only. Nine total configurations let you match the Clover to your pond size and electrical setup.
High-Volume Water Circulation
Flow rates from 3,600 GPH on the 1/2 HP to 10,200 GPH on the 3 HP move enough water to boost oxygen levels, fight algae, and prevent stagnation while the fountain runs its display.
Run It and Forget It
The oil-free motor is rated to run 24 hours a day with no maintenance, no oil changes, and no control box on the smaller units. Plug in a 115V model or hardwire a 230V model and the Clover handles the rest on its own.
Works in Any Water Type
The stainless steel motor is approved for fresh water, salt water, and brackish ponds without requiring additional equipment or special coatings. Scott Aerator backs it with a 5-year unconditional motor warranty.
Leave It In All Winter
There is no fall removal, spring reinstallation, or winterizing process. Turn the power off when the season ends, let ice form around the unit, and turn it back on after the thaw. Every component handles subzero temperatures without damage.

Key Features of the Clover by Scott Aerator

On the 1/2 HP, the center stream reaches 20 feet with side jets extending 15 feet. On the 3 HP, those numbers jump to 70 feet and 80 feet -- a display that dominates any pond it sits in.
  • Oil-Free Stainless Steel Motor: Every Clover runs on an environmentally friendly submersible motor sealed in marine-grade stainless steel. There is no oil to monitor, no filter to replace, and no routine service to schedule. All motors are manufactured in Holland, Michigan and rated for continuous 24-hour operation.
  • Six HP Options, Nine Configurations: The 1/2, 3/4, and 1 HP ship in both 115V and 230V. The 1.5, 2, and 3 HP are 230V only. That gives you nine ways to match the Clover to your pond size and electrical setup. Each step up adds spray height, width, and flow rate.
  • Factory-Attached Power Cord: Each unit ships ready to connect with a submersible 12-gauge cord (70 feet on motors up to 1.5 HP, 100 feet of 10-gauge on the 2 and 3 HP). The 115V models include a standard plug for residential outlets. Longer replacement cords can be ordered separately.
  • No Winterizing, No Removal: All Scott Aerator products are engineered to handle subzero temperatures without any damage to the motor, housing, or float. When the season ends, cut the power and walk away. There is no draining, no storage, and no reinstallation in the spring.
  • 15-Minute Installation: The Clover assembles quickly with self-tapping screws and ships with everything you need to get it in the water. Secure two nylon anchoring lines to eyebolts and anchor weights, lower the unit into the pond, and plug it in.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy

  • Dedicated GFCI Circuit: A GFCI-protected circuit is mandatory for all Clover installations. Have a licensed electrician handle the wiring if you are not sure your current setup meets this requirement.
  • Swimmer Safety: Power must be disconnected any time someone enters the water. This applies to all electric pond equipment, not just the Clover.
  • Depth Requirements by Motor: The pond must be at least 36" deep for the 1/2 HP, 44" for the 3/4 HP and 1 HP, 50" for the 1.5 HP, 56" for the 2 HP, and 64" for the 3 HP. Measure at the planned placement point, not at the shoreline.
  • Two-Point Anchoring: The Clover requires two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon mooring ropes to hold position. Minimum weight per anchor ranges from 20 lbs on the 1/2 HP to 55 lbs on the 3 HP. Anchors and rope are sold separately.
  • No Extension Cords Allowed: Running the motor through an extension cord is not permitted. If the included power cord does not reach your breaker panel, use the cable length chart above to select the correct wire gauge for the total run distance, and order a longer cord or have a qualified electrician install a dedicated line.
  • Choosing 115V or 230V: The 1/2, 3/4, and 1 HP motors come in both voltages. A 115V unit plugs into any standard outlet. A 230V unit needs to be hardwired into a panel. Scott Aerator strongly recommends the 230V version for the 1 HP to avoid voltage drop over longer cord runs. The 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only.
  • Winter Storage Not Needed: Leave the Clover in the pond through the off-season. Cut power, let ice form, and restore power once things thaw. Every part of the unit handles subzero conditions without sustaining damage.
  • Salt Water Compatible: The stainless steel motor housing is rated for salt water and brackish ponds out of the box. No coatings, sleeves, or add-on kits are required.
  • Continuous Duty Motor: The Clover is rated to run nonstop, day and night, with no breaks and no maintenance intervals. If you want to cycle the motor on and off, an optional timer is available.
  • ARL Compliance: Every Clover configuration is ARL tested and approved to meet the applicable requirements of UL and the National Electric Code as a complete package.

What's Included & Optional Add-Ons

  • In the Box: Fountain pump with brass nozzle assembly, float platform, stainless steel filter basket, self-tapping assembly screws, submersible power cord (length and gauge depend on motor selection), and owner's manual. Everything needed to get the Clover in the water ships together.
  • Available Separately - LED Lights: Choose from Night Glo warm white or color-changing LED sets. Both screw directly onto the float and run off 115V household power. Go with a 2-light set for motors up to 1 HP, or a 4-light set for 1.5 HP and above. Every light set includes a built-in timer. The color-changing version also ships with a wireless remote rated for up to 300 feet.
  • Available Separately - Motor Timers: Set the fountain to run on a custom schedule using a mechanical-dial timer with multiple on/off positions. Pick 115V (plug-in) or 230V (hardwired), both in a weather-resistant housing. Timers control the motor only; the light kits handle their own scheduling independently.
  • Available Separately - Anchors & Mooring Line: Two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon ropes are required to hold the Clover in position. These are not included in the package and must be sourced before installation.
  • Available Separately - Extended Power Cords: If your breaker panel sits farther from the pond than the factory cord can reach, longer submersible replacement cords are available in the same gauge as the original.

Overview

The Scott Aerator Clover creates a distinctive clover-shaped spray -- a tall center stream surrounded by four angled side jets at 45 degrees. The 1/2 HP reaches 20 feet high with 15-foot side jets, scaling up to a 70-foot center column with 80-foot jets on the 3 HP. Flow rates range from 3,600 to 10,200 GPH, providing real aeration alongside the dramatic display.

The oil-free stainless steel motor runs 24/7 with zero maintenance, handles salt water, and survives winter without removal or winterizing. The three smallest motors come in 115V and 230V, while larger motors are 230V only.

Six HP ratings from 1/2 HP to 3 HP cover ponds from a compact backyard to multi-acre lakes. Add optional LED lights or a timer to customize. Use the charts below to compare motors and confirm cable length.

Benefits of the Scott Aerator Clover Fountain

Signature Clover Spray Pattern A tall center stream surrounded by four angled side jets at 45 degrees creates the distinctive clover-shaped display. On smaller motors the pattern is graceful and intimate. On the 2 HP and 3 HP it becomes a large-scale spectacle visible from a distance. Six Motor Sizes Choose from 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, 1 HP, 1.5 HP, 2 HP, or 3 HP. The three smallest ship in both 115V and 230V. The three largest are 230V only. Nine total configurations let you match the Clover to your pond size and electrical setup. High-Volume Water Circulation Flow rates from 3,600 GPH on the 1/2 HP to 10,200 GPH on the 3 HP move enough water to boost oxygen levels, fight algae, and prevent stagnation while the fountain runs its display. Run It and Forget It The oil-free motor is rated to run 24 hours a day with no maintenance, no oil changes, and no control box on the smaller units. Plug in a 115V model or hardwire a 230V model and the Clover handles the rest on its own. Works in Any Water Type The stainless steel motor is approved for fresh water, salt water, and brackish ponds without requiring additional equipment or special coatings. Scott Aerator backs it with a 5-year unconditional motor warranty. Leave It In All Winter There is no fall removal, spring reinstallation, or winterizing process. Turn the power off when the season ends, let ice form around the unit, and turn it back on after the thaw. Every component handles subzero temperatures without damage.

Key Features of the Clover by Scott Aerator

  • Distinctive Clover-Shaped Spray: A central brass nozzle shoots water skyward while four angled side nozzles fan outward at 45 degrees, creating a pattern that looks like a four-leaf clover from above.

Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. All distances in feet from motor to main breaker. GFCI required. Please disconnect the power source when swimmers are present.
