Scott Aerator Cambridge Pond Fountain
Transform Your Pond into a Showpiece with the Cambridge Fountain
If you have been searching for a pond fountain that looks as impressive as it performs, the Scott Aerator Cambridge is the one that stops the search. Unlike simple aerating fountains that push water through a single nozzle, the Cambridge launches a tall center stream surrounded by angled side jets that fan outward in a dramatic 360-degree display. The 1 HP model throws a 30-foot center column with side jets reaching 40 feet in diameter, and it scales up from there -- the 3 HP produces a massive spray visible from hundreds of feet away. Flow rates range from 4,500 GPH on the 1 HP all the way up to 10,800 GPH on the 3 HP, circulating enough water to improve oxygen levels, discourage algae, and keep your pond from going stagnant while putting on a display that turns heads from the road.
Scott Aerator built the Cambridge around a submersible stainless steel motor that runs continuously with zero maintenance, no control box, and no scheduled service. The motor handles fresh water and salt water equally well, and when winter arrives there is nothing to drain, remove, or winterize. Turn the power off, let the pond freeze around the unit, and flip it back on after the spring thaw with no risk of damage to the motor or housing. The 1 HP ships in both 115V and 230V, while the 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only. Every unit includes a submersible power cord, and 115V models come with a standard plug so you can connect without hiring an electrician.
Four motor sizes give you room to match the Cambridge to anything from a half-acre residential pond to a multi-acre lake on a commercial property, HOA entrance, or golf course. Add optional LED light kits -- warm white or color-changing with a wireless remote -- to keep the display running after dark. Plug in an optional timer to control when the motor runs and save on operating costs. Use the motor comparison and cable length charts below to zero in on the right configuration for your site.
The Scott Aerator Cambridge is a display fountain that combines a tall center stream with angled side jets for a dramatic 360-degree pattern. The 1 HP throws a 30-foot center column with 40-foot-diameter side jets, and the 3 HP scales that up dramatically. Flow rates range from 4,500 to 10,800 GPH, providing real aeration while creating a display visible from a distance.
The stainless steel motor runs 24/7 with zero maintenance, handles salt water, and survives winter without removal or winterizing. The 1 HP comes in 115V or 230V, while larger motors are 230V only. Every unit ships with a submersible power cord attached.
Four HP ratings cover ponds from half an acre to multi-acre lakes. Add optional LED lights or a timer to customize the setup. Use the charts below to compare motors and confirm cable length for your installation.

Key Features of the Cambridge by Scott Aerator
- Center Stream + Side Jet Display: The Cambridge is not a single-nozzle aerator -- it combines a tall center stream with multiple angled side jets that fan outward to create a full, layered spray pattern. On the 1 HP, the center column reaches 30 feet with side jets spanning 40 feet in diameter. That kind of visual presence turns a pond into a property feature, not just a body of water.
- Stainless Steel Submersible Motor: Every Cambridge runs on a submersible motor sealed in a marine-grade stainless steel housing. There is no oil to monitor, no control box to wire, and no routine service to schedule. All motors are proudly built in Holland, Michigan and rated for continuous 24-hour operation.
- Four HP Options to Match Your Pond: The 1 HP handles ponds in the half-acre to one-acre range and ships in both 115V and 230V. The 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only and cover larger properties up to multi-acre lakes. Each step up adds spray height, width, and flow rate so you can size the display to your property.
- Factory-Attached Power Cord: Each unit ships ready to connect with a submersible 12-gauge power cord. The 115V model includes a standard plug for residential outlets. If your breaker panel is farther than the included cord allows, longer replacement cords can be ordered separately.
- No Winterizing, No Removal: All Scott Aerator products are engineered to handle subzero temperatures without any damage to the motor, housing, or float. When the season ends, cut the power and walk away. There is no draining, no storage, and no reinstallation in the spring.
- 15-Minute Installation: The Cambridge assembles quickly with self-tapping screws and ships with everything you need to get it in the water. Secure two nylon anchoring lines to eyebolts and anchor weights, lower the unit into the pond, and plug it in. Most installations take 15 to 20 minutes.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy
- Dedicated GFCI Circuit: A GFCI-protected circuit is mandatory for all Cambridge installations. Have a licensed electrician handle the wiring if you are not sure your current setup meets this requirement.
- Swimmer Safety: Power must be disconnected any time someone enters the water. This applies to all electric pond equipment, not just the Cambridge.
- Depth Requirements by Motor: The pond must be at least 44" deep for the 1 HP, 50" for the 1.5 HP, 56" for the 2 HP, and 64" for the 3 HP. Measure at the planned placement point, not at the shoreline.
- Two-Point Anchoring: The Cambridge requires two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon mooring ropes to hold position. Minimum weight per anchor ranges from 35 lbs on the 1 HP to 55 lbs on the 3 HP. Anchors and rope are sold separately.
- No Extension Cords Allowed: Running the motor through an extension cord is not permitted. If the included power cord does not reach your breaker panel, use the cable length chart above to select the correct wire gauge for the total run distance, and order a longer cord or have a qualified electrician install a dedicated line.
- Choosing 115V or 230V: The 1 HP motor comes in both voltages. A 115V unit plugs into any standard outlet. A 230V unit needs to be hardwired into a panel. Scott Aerator strongly recommends the 230V version for the 1 HP to avoid voltage drop over longer cord runs. The 1.5 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP are 230V only.
- Winter Storage Not Needed: Leave the Cambridge in the pond through the off-season. Cut power, let ice form, and restore power once things thaw. Every part of the unit handles subzero conditions without sustaining damage.
- Salt Water Compatible: The stainless steel motor housing is rated for salt water and brackish ponds out of the box. No coatings, sleeves, or add-on kits are required.
- Continuous Duty Motor: The Cambridge is rated to run nonstop, day and night, with no breaks and no maintenance intervals. If you want to cycle the motor on and off, an optional timer is available.
- ARL Compliance: Every Cambridge configuration is ARL tested and approved to meet the applicable requirements of UL and the National Electric Code as a complete package.
What's Included & Optional Add-Ons
- In the Box: Fountain pump with nozzle, float platform, stainless steel filter basket, self-tapping assembly screws, submersible power cord (length and gauge depend on motor selection), and owner's manual. Everything needed to get the Cambridge in the water ships together.
- Available Separately - LED Lights: Choose from Night Glo warm white or color-changing LED sets. Both screw directly onto the float and run off 115V household power. Go with a 2-light set for motors up to 1 HP, or a 4-light set for 1.5 HP and above. Every light set includes a built-in timer. The color-changing version also ships with a wireless remote rated for up to 300 feet.
- Available Separately - Motor Timers: Set the fountain to run on a custom schedule using a mechanical-dial timer with multiple on/off positions. Pick 115V (plug-in) or 230V (hardwired), both in a weather-resistant housing. Timers control the motor only; the light kits handle their own scheduling independently.
- Available Separately - Anchors & Mooring Line: Two anchor weights (or concrete blocks) and two nylon ropes are required to hold the Cambridge in position. These are not included in the package and must be sourced before installation.
- Available Separately - Extended Power Cords: If your breaker panel sits farther from the pond than the factory cord can reach, longer submersible replacement cords are available in the same gauge as the original.
