The Vanguard LED lighting kits mount underneath any Vanguard Hydro-Torque fountain or Typhoon display aerator and light the plume from below. Two color choices: a remote-controlled RGBW color-changing ring for the full color palette (deep reds, blues, greens, purples, yellows, plus pure white and fading/strobing modes), or a bright white LED ring for a classic elegant nighttime look.
Both colors ship in three motor-sized versions. The -05-1 ring fits the 0.5 to 1 HP Hydro-Torque motors and the Typhoon 3/4 HP aerator. The -2 is sized to the 2 HP Hydro-Torque. The -3-5 is the larger ring built for the 3 and 5 HP lake fountains. Match the ring to your motor and the light distribution is even across the plume.

Requirements & What to Know Before You Buy
- Motor Compatibility: only fits Vanguard motors. The three ring sizes match Hydro-Torque 0.5-1 HP, 2 HP, and 3-5 HP as well as the 3/4 HP Typhoon (use the -05-1 ring). Not compatible with Kasco, Scott Aerator, or other brands.
- Motor Wiring: the kit shares power with the fountain motor via the pre-wired pigtail. Confirm your fountain uses a Vanguard-standard connector before ordering.
- Ring Diameter: larger motors need larger diameter rings for even light coverage. Always match the ring size to the motor HP - a 3-5 HP ring on a 1 HP fountain looks oversized and the reverse leaves dark patches.
- Nighttime Ambient Light: for the best visual effect, the fountain area should have some ambient darkness. Bright shoreline floodlights near the fountain will wash out the color (especially RGBW).
- Remote Range (RGBW only): the wireless remote works from roughly 100 to 150 ft in open sight of the fountain. Structures and dense vegetation reduce range.
- Timer Interaction: if the fountain runs on a daily timer, the LED ring cycles with it. Bypass the timer if you want the lights on independently.
